Care for Headaches & Migraines in Burlington
Maybe your headache builds slowly as the workday goes on. Maybe it follows a stressful week, too much screen time, poor sleep, or not enough water. Or perhaps migraines arrive with enough intensity to make you stop what you’re doing and retreat somewhere dark and quiet.
At Core Chiropractic and Wellness Center, Drs. Raechel and Brett Moran don’t look at a headache as an isolated problem. Their first question is usually broader: What might your body be trying to tell you?
A Headache Is a Symptom, Not the Whole Story
There are many ways to describe headaches, including tension, cluster, and migraine headaches. Those distinctions can matter medically, but the team also wants to understand what may be happening beneath the symptom.
Headaches can have many possible triggers. At Core Chiropractic and Wellness Center, the doctors commonly look at factors such as emotional stress, dehydration, nutrition, digestion, sleep, screen time, posture, previous injuries, and physical strain. That means two people with similar headaches may need very different approaches.
Finding Your Pattern
Your first visit starts with your health history and a conversation about what you’re experiencing. The doctors want to know when your headaches occur, what else is going on when they appear, and how they affect your day.
The assessment may include a NeuroInfiniti Stress Response Evaluation (SRE), which provides information about how your nervous system is responding to different forms of stress. The team may also perform its metabolic Stress Point Exam to look for nutritional or digestive factors.
When structural concerns may be involved, such as a previous whiplash injury or changes in the cervical spine, X-rays may be recommended when clinically indicated.
Care That Goes Beyond the Adjustment
Chiropractic care may be one part of your plan, but the doctors don’t assume every headache has the same answer.
For someone who spends hours at a computer, recommendations might include posture or movement breaks. Someone who stands in one place all day may need more opportunities to move. Sleep routines, hydration, stretching, breathing exercises, nutritional needs, and stress-management strategies may also be discussed.
For some patients, even simple habits such as slowing their breathing or writing down racing thoughts before bed may be useful parts of their individual game plan. The goal is to identify manageable changes that fit your life rather than hand everyone the same checklist.
When Headaches Affect Everyday Life
The doctors recall one patient who was experiencing migraines as often as once or twice a week. Her symptoms could include throbbing pain, visual changes, and sensitivity to light and noise, sometimes making it necessary to lie down and step away from family activities.
Her evaluation also identified digestive concerns, so her individual plan looked at more than her headaches alone. As care progressed, she reported that her headaches first became less intense and later occurred less frequently.
Her experience isn’t a promise of how someone else will respond to care, but it reflects the practice’s approach: look at the different factors involved rather than focusing only on the headache itself.
